Excepting registration for the 2019/2020 sessions. Register early to ensure a spot.

We have returned from our adventures at sea and are busy settling back in Peterborough. I am very excited to be opening the studio to many of my previous students and welcoming new students. There are lots of transformations happening here with the beginnings of a new studio and I am eager to play, learn and teach again at the piano bench.
If you are interested in registering your child for a spot in the fall, please contact me at thepianobench@yahoo.ca

Group Lessons
Group lessons are beginning Fall 2014! The dynamics of group lessons are fun and encouraging. Each student will have their own piano to play with learning tools such as activity books, flash cards, drawing board, and small instruments integrated into lessons when appropriate. The bulk of each lesson will consist of playing piano as a group. To ensure positive and productive group experience, groups are limited to 3 students. These unique lessons offer a great opportunity for students to engage in music as an ensemble and yet learn to play as a solo musician.
Group lessons are 45 minutes and offer a more affordable alternative to private lessons.

New Program: Musical Beginnings
Children are animated with song and dance at an early age. This program honours that creative spirit and guides children through the fundamentals of music education in a celebratory and professional learning environment. Drawing on influences from Dalcroze Eurhythmics and the Orff Approach, this program is designed to introduce children to musical concepts through the use of spoken rhymes and poems, movement activities, and creative play with percussion instruments (rhythm sticks, xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, etc.). Rhythmic and melodic awareness is enhanced within this whole learning experience and offers children a fun and practical introduction into their musical lives.
This program is a great opportunity to prepare children for future instumental lessons.
* This program is designed for children ages 4 to 6. There may be an opportunity for younger or older children to join this group. Please contact The Piano Bench if you are interested.
Classes are limited to 5 students. Sessions are 45 minutes.
Stay posted for upcoming sessions!
